Vehicle Specs and Equipment

Sand track in AfricaCareful thought has been put into choosing an expedition vehicle that allows travel during the expedition to focus more on the places we WANT to travel instead of where the vehicle is ABLE to go at all.

The requirements are many, the right vehicle for this type of journey will need to be lightweight, highly manoeuvrable, comfortable and practical for day to day travel and living as well as easy to maintain and repair.

The choices of vehicle type are many, but I have opted for the Bedford ‘M’ type cross country 4x4 vehicle which was designed and built for the British army over 40 years ago and has proved the value of its simplicity and versatility by remaining in production until quite recently. In fact not only is it still in service with the British army, it has been adopted by many other armies around the world.

I myself have over 6 years of experience in driving, repairing and maintaining this type of vehicle on overlanding expeditions and am very confident that it will suit our purpose most adequately.
